| UU Congregation Considers 'Wiki Church' |

On Sunday, May 27, the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship service and discussion topic will be "Wiki Church," presented by the Reverend Christine Robinson, Senior Minister at First Unitarian Church in Albuquerque, N.M.
She explains in this DVD sermon that "On August 6, 1991, Tim Berners-Lee introduced the world to Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), a way to access information on linked computers. His invention paved the way for the Internet. This was momentous!"
"But this original thinker didn’t take out a patent! Instead, he gave it away," Christine adds . "He laid out his idea and let others develop, expand, and implement it. Within months Stanford University set up the first Internet server, and the World Wide Web was born. Online resources have changed learning and research and brought enormous resources to people everywhere, including small towns and rural citizens all over the world. By the way, Tim Berners-Lee is a member of First Parish Unitarian Church of Lexington, MA."
In this unusual talk, Rev. Robinson makes a symbolic connection between Wikipedia and how UUs make meaning in their worlds.
"The more access we have to information, communication, and the ideas of others, the better off we are in many ways, but particularly in the realm of faith, meaning, theology, and values."
The service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall. The address is Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn east on Greenbriar Drive off of North Pagosa Boulevard by the Fire Station, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign.
